SHOWREEL 2011
Final Hitchhike Animation
Audience Test - some improvements on characters, such as the blink on the iPhones. Also the addition of a few more.
Back to the Prague trip…..This is an updated version of a previous animation that I had done in After Effects.
This character was from an early sketch when coming to character development. Originally I had drawn ‘him’ with glasses but I thought it looked too geeky and not ‘cassette’ enough. Again this was drawn with in mind of creating a child-like character; with over excitable movement to represent an overexcited child. I’m very pleased with how the movements work - the blink on this is much simpler being only one shape. And the bounce, although a little tricky at first, I managed to tweak the speeds in certain areas to represent the spring upwards, and the fall, downwards, quite clearly. Definitely one of my favourites.
A CD character I have done. I wanted it to appear to be younger, so I feel the leg swinging works well. I really like the simplicity but effectiveness of this one….being called ‘cute’ numerous times.
…..following on from the last post of the male version, this is the female version of my iPhone character. Both of these characters will be repeated in the audience scene as its something we don’t want to dwell on too much and also we’re pretty sure it will go unnoticed.
As you can probably guess it’s an iPhone…I really like the simple animation and characterised to be male only by a moustache. I found the eyes were difficult to appear to blink correctly so they may need work but as it is now works for me. And I feel it looks good as a whole. Same goes for the next video which is the female version.
LOGORAMA, a must watch.
Some character ideas…need work but I like the idea.
This is my bird character that I drew thats clearly a duck. Don’t know why we decided on a duck for me but it was used in the stickers that we stuck everywhere in our trip. It will also be used in our animation so it corresponds to our sticker album following those stickers and the colour red. This short (ish) animation is just the duck flapping its wings. Its a minute long so don’t waste your time watching it all. It is a simple, very 2D animation, but we wanted to keep the two dimensional/ scrapbook-esque aspect to our animation.
